From the moment you walk into Marrakesh, you realise that Kyiv is a much more colourful place than meets the eye at first sight. Kyiv really is a blend of cultures, and many are used to it, but few would think that a destination so distant from the Ukraine such as Morocco would be so genuinely recreated in every aspect of its culture.

Marrakesh's exquisite interior is achieved through a combination of ornate Morrocan furniture, elaborate rugs and cushions and beautiful mosaic tiled fountains.

Marrakesh’s cuisine is the focal point of the restaurant, with culinary delights that span, with great detail, perhaps the entire culinary tradition of Morocco - the salads alone, could probably warrant a separate menu. Casablanca-born Chef Samir Labrini, honorary lecturer of the Baltimore Culinary School, has put a lot of his skill and imagination into the menu.

Those who come seeking refuge from the busy streets of Kyiv, will find a wide variety of hookas and a remarkable tea menu, which will taste especially well under the soothing lighting and terrene hues of the interior. The iced teas are a local speciality, whose balanced flavour and lemony harmony, praised even by extensive Kyiv’s expat community.

There are live DJ-sets every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night and on Wednesday and Saturday everybody will be pleased with by mesmerising feats of the feisty belly-dancers.

Marrakesh is an exotic experience that transcends mere dining and brings you into another world where you are greeted by smiling faces in Moroccan garb, taking you out of your daily routine for several wonderful hours.
